Sometimes life rears up, hits you up the side of the head, and reminds you just how fragile it is. Just as my heart was beginning to feel whole again it has been shattered. I have lost one of the best friends I have ever had. Karen was an amazing woman. One of the strongest people I have ever met. She took what life gave her and just kept moving forward. She never gave up, but eventually her body did. She was one of the finest examples of service and generosity I've ever known. She was my confidant, my travel partner, my sister, my teacher, my example, my friend. I will miss you forever my friend. I love you!
