A Fun Weekend
Saturday morning Kyle attempted to get me up at 8:00 am to go rake leaves. I wasn't about to get out of bed that early on my one day of the week to sleep in. Unfortunately, guilt finally drove me out of bed at 9:00 and I went out and helped him. Why do I have to have a conscience? Life would be so much more fun without it.
Robert is coming home in December for a visit so we then moved some furniture back into the basement apartment and put the bed back together for when he gets here. We moved out the non-working washer and dryer so we can clean up the laundry room before we install the washer and dryer Kyle's uncle Dick gave us. It will be nice to get that taken care of so I don't have to haul laundry back and forth to Mom and Dad's anymore.
We then headed to Salt Lake where we exchange some wedding gifts and used our gift cards to get a set of pans and some other things we needed. It's a lot of fun to shop when you aren't actually spending your own money. We ended the night by going to the Collin Raye concert at the Desert Star Theater with Kyle's Mom and Dad, and his sister Karianne and her fiance Jason. It was an amazing night and we had a great time. The theater only holds 200 people so we had a great view and he put on an awesome show. Kyle's surgery is scheduled for Friday so let's all hope and pray that it happens without any more delays. Please keep him in your prayers. We sure appreciate everyone's love and concern. I will keep you updated on how it goes.

Kyle's Deer Camp Inititation
Kyle spent the week at deer camp with Dad, Uncle Craig and several other members of the family. It's quite the set up and I think he had a really good time. I don't think he was all that excited to come home today.
I went up to camp on Tuesday night after work because I was really missing Kyle and hadn't seen him since Friday night. They treated me to a dinner of salmon, steak, and shrimp scampi. It was quite the feast. They do eat well at camp. The best part of deer camp is that the men do all the cooking.
Before long she was riding around camp on her own. I think she enjoyed herself and was glad she finally came. We once again enjoyed a delicious dinner. Turkey steaks and potatoes were on the menu for the night. Garrett loved the fire and spent a lot of time walking around finding little sticks, throwing them in, and watching them burn.
I leave in the morning for Orlando for a conference for work. I didn't know I was going until a few days ago. I'm filling in for a lady who wasn't able to go at the last minute. I'm sure I'll have fun once I get there but right now I'm not wanting to go pack or get up at the crack of dawn to go to the airport.

The Sisters In Our Life
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.
'Don't forget your Sisters,' she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.'
Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women... your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too. You'll need other women. Woman always do.
"What a funny piece of advice," the young woman thought. 'Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'
But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life.
THIS SAYS IT ALL:
Time passes..
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT...........
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunts, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still...
So thank you for all the "sisters" in my life who keep me going and carry me when I don't have the strength to do so myself. I love you all more than words can say.

The Honeymoon
We went on a horse ride one of the days and it was a lot of fun. After the stress of the last couple of months it was great for me to be able to just destress for an hour or so. I forget how much I love it until I get to do it again. I probably won't be able to make it up to deer camp for a ride this year after already taking so much time off of work so I'm glad I got to go for a ride, even if it was a short one.
We came home on Sunday ready to deal with Kyle having the pacemaker surgery on Thursday, only to receive word on Monday that the doctor has had to postpone it. It has been rescheduled for next Friday the 16th. Our house is currently a complete disaster so maybe we can get it cleaned up and Kyle unpacked and moved in by then so he won't have to come home from the hospital to a complete mess. He is quite upset about having to miss the chance to attend the opening night dinner at deer camp on Friday night. I've tried to reassure him there will be other years, but I'm not sure he's buying it.
